About US

An Aird Events, founded and owned by musician and broadcaster Gary Innes, is one of Scotland’s most forward thinking event companies, striving to produce ground breaking shows in some of the world’s most iconic venues.

A founding member of the award-winning band Mànran and presenter on BBC Radio Scotland’s Take the Floor and Your Requests, Gary has spent over two decades championing Scottish traditional music on stages across the world. His passion for celebrating Scottish culture, and his belief in it’s ability to bring people together, inspired the creation of An Aird Events - a company dedicated to delivering ambitious, high-quality live experiences that honour tradition while embracing creativity and innovation.

From arena concerts to Highland festivals and international showcases, An Aird Events has become synonymous with large-scale productions that celebrate Scottish music, community, and identity with warmth, authenticity, and heart.

Hoolie in the Hydro

What began as a bold idea has grown into Scotland’s biggest night of traditional music. The inaugural Hoolie in the Hydro took place in 2022 in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, making history as the first fully traditional concert to fill the arena. Since then, it has become a highlight of Scotland’s cultural calendar - a joyful celebration uniting the country’s finest artists and thousands of fans. The 2025 edition, Hoolie in the Hydro: The Big Yin, will pay tribute to Sir Billy Connolly, honouring Glasgow and it’s unique spirit as the city marks its 850th anniversary.

Hoolie in New York

In April 2025, An Aird Events brought the Hoolie spirit across the Atlantic to Carnegie Hall as part of New York City’s Tartan Week celebrations. Hoolie in New York showcased Scotland’s world-class traditional music with performances from Mànran, Julie Fowlis, Dougie MacLean, and more. The event shared the joy, warmth, and energy of Scottish music with an international audience and strengthened cultural ties between Scotland and its global diaspora.

Lochaber live

After a 30-year hiatus, Lochaber Live was brought back to life in 2024 by An Aird Events, reviving the area’s beloved festival. Set against the stunning backdrop of Ben Nevis in Fort William, the festival unites local and national artists for a weekend of music, culture, and community. Celebrating Scotland’s rich heritage, it gives both established and emerging talent a stage to shine, while reconnecting audiences with the festival’s enduring spirit and legacy.

At An Aird Events, every production begins with passion and purpose. From arena stages to Highland fields, our goal is to honour Scotland’s traditions while showcasing its creativity to audiences at home and around the world.
